What is Microneedling?

Microneedling uses tiny little needles to puncture the skin, which tricks your body into a healing process. During the healing process your body produces new cells, collagen and elastin leaving you with younger, plumper and tighter looking skin. The production of these new cells will also improve scarring, hyperpigmentation and stretch marks.
Microneedling is a great one off treatment to gain plumper, tighter more even looking skin. However if you are wanting to improve conditions such as scarring or hyperpigmentation more than one session is required spaced 4 weeks apart to get the best results.
Who is not suitable for Microneedling?
You may not be suitable for Microneedling is you have any of the following conditions;
Keloid Scarring
Skin Cancer in area of treatment
Skin Infections
Weakened Immune System
Active Acne
Sunburn

Does it hurt?

Numbing cream can be applied prior to treatment, however pain is minimal - some areas with thinner skin are a little more sensitive. It feels a little bit like sand paper rubbing your skin lightly.

What is the downtime?

You will be pink / red following treatment and it is advised not to apply makeup for 24 hours after Microneedling. Every body is different in how their skin reacts, some will only be very slightly pink others will be bright red. This gradually improves over 24-48hrs post treatment. So it is a good idea to plan this treatment when you haven't got much on for a day or two.
When will I see results?

In the following days after treatment your skin will feel tighter and plumper with improved texture. Collagen and elastin production however takes time and can take up to 4 weeks to really see improvement in fine lines and wrinkles and skin condition. For Hyperpigmentation, Scarring, lines and wrinkles and stretch marks more than one session is required with improvement being visible up to 4 weeks after each session.
